Malta Institute of Taxation (MIT)

About the organisation:
President: Dr. Renald Micallef
The Malta Institute of Taxation was constituted during 1995 as an association of tax practitioners from both the official and private sectors. In Malta there is no specific professional title for tax advisers. Members of the MIT are generally lawyers, accountants and other qualified professionals who satisfy the Institute that they specialise in taxation. Senior public officials in the Revenue Departments are also members of the Institute. Membership is always on an individual basis.
The principal objects of the MIT are to promote the study of the administration and practice of taxation; to facilitate the exchange of information and views on taxation and the creation of a well informed public opinion thereon; to advance and protect the professional status and interests of its members.
